In addition to making several trailers, and multiple pieces of social media content for the third season of Dan Harmon’s show HarmonQuest, our team also had the opportunity to create an original piece of branded content.

One of our team’s goal was to make a piece of very thoughtful creative that would resonate with the fans. We decided a cool approach would be to remind viewers of Dan Harmon's character’s journey from the previous seasons.
Dan started off season 1 as the half-orc, Fondue. Then he dies near the end of season 2 and comes back as a ghost trapped in a sword. And finally in season 3, Dan plays the new character, Limerick.
First I created series of simple photoshop mockups to help visualize the idea. Once that was signed off on, our puppeteer began fabricating the puppets. And something that might be surprising is that I made 3D animations of the entire video before the true claymation started. With a full 3D animatic, we were able to troubleshoot any timing or staging issues.
We couldn’t just put these great puppets in the bottom of a prop drawer. So we enlisted the puppets’ father, Corey Ellis, to create this rad diorama.
